Pre-Trip Happenings

In January, when I informed R that I had scheduled an intensive, he told me that it seemed like every time he scheduled a trip to Sedona or a seminar, things started happening that made him think that he needed to postpone the trip. He said that the closer to the time of the trip, the more “stuff” seemed to get in the way. I think he was warning me so that I would be aware of the possibility. I told him that only 2 things would get in the way and I didn’t want to say them out loud because I didn’t want to put that out in the Universe.

Well, last week it began! I had to have some pre-cancerous cells on my face freeze-dried (too many sunburns as a child!) and I’ve had 2 scabs on my face since then (not too pretty!). And I’ve gotten a yeast infection under both arms IN MY ARMPITS! Who knew that was possible? And I haven’t had a urinary tract infection in more than 15 years, but today I have one! So it seems that things are trying to get in my way, but I won’t let that happen!

This morning while chatting with a dear friend that I met on MFR-Talk, she told me “your inner intuition is starting to work its way by getting out some of the toxins with the anxiety you have. I believe your body is starting to want and try to heal itself during the time of waiting for the day to come, knowing it's ready to start a new journey. Follow your heart, know that it's right and these are things your body is trying to get out while you wait.”

I loved what she said because now I’ve changed my tape (“look what is happening to you, you are falling apart”) to her tape (“your body is getting rid of toxins and starting to heal itself”). Sometimes it is all in how you look at things that makes such a huge difference. I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE that my body knows what it is doing.

Sunday, March 27, 2005 - Going to Sedona

Well, I’m here! Sedona is beautiful and the drive was quite interesting. It seemed like around every curve was something new and beautiful to look at. My day really started last evening when I was trying to finish packing and get all the bills paid (on the computer). It was storming and our electricity went out. They said half the town was without power. I had planned on going to bed by 7 p.m. because I had to get up at 3 a.m. to catch my flight. Well, the power came back on at 8 p.m. and I went to bed shortly after that. And I woke up at 2 a.m. and couldn’t go back to sleep – too excited and scared! What am I scared of? The unknown. It seems my biggest fears are always of the unknown. Once I know them, they aren’t nearly as scary! That holds true during my MFR sessions too!

I hate to say it, but my flight was terrible! The takeoff and the landing were the best parts. But the 3½ hours we were in the air was like riding a roller coaster. Major turbulence! The plane dropped one time and everyone went airborne – even those who were seat belted in got very light – like MFR! Almost everyone screamed when that happened. The flight attendants said they had never been on a flight where the plane dropped as much as that one did. It was a new experience for them, too. They were in the back filling the drink orders and one of them flew up and almost hit the ceiling. All the drinks flew up and then landed on the floor. So, we had to stay in our seat belts for almost the full 3½ hours. We did have about 20 minutes for all of us to use the ONE restroom that wasn’t broken. I was so glad to land and get off that plane! But we got to Phoenix 30 minutes early!

Managed to get to the rental car place and pick up my car. I found Therapy on the Rocks easily, but got lost trying to find the little guest house I rented. But it is a family joke that “Mom gets lost in her own house” so of course, I had to get lost. It’s just part of who I am!

The house is tiny, but fine for one person. Next week when Cindy gets here, it may be a little too small, but we’ll see. There are a lot of steps between the parking area and the door. If I come back, I’m not going to bring nearly as much luggage! I always over-pack, but I wasn’t sure what I needed. Now I know I should have brought some more Capri pants and just one pair of jeans. And this place has a hot tub, a deck and outdoor fireplaces. I may head to the hot tub shortly. My back is killing me – probably from lugging everything around. Oh well, they’ll get me back in shape tomorrow!

I went to Safeway to buy some food for the kitchen. Prices a little higher than they are back home, but I gotta eat! Looking forward to tomorrow. I’m supposed to show up at 10 a.m. for paperwork and evaluation. And then I’m sure that’s when the fun will begin! Stay tuned…. [next page]
